Shaun White :O
Missed a couple of interesting days, so here's the recap:

wednesday:
Radio was hectic because my co-host was away, and we decided to do live requests this week. It was pretty crazy to say the least. The replacement co-host was ok. Popular with the audience, but he got warned by our broadcaster for coarse language which is a bit nuts. Spetz the DJ did a sterling job holding it all together.

thursday:
Ruthy came over after work and we had shinoya (yum). Then we met up with DV and simmo and hung out a bit. I put on this tony hawk DVD I got from insurance for us to watch. Basically tony and a whole bunch of pros go round to skate parks and own it up bigtime just for fun. During the course of the DVD tony fractures his ankle, and keeps skating anyway... then he splits open his shin trying a trick. Time to go home right? BZZZZZZZZZZ! WRONG! he gets up after they piece his shin together and completes the trick before going to the hospital. What a machine.

Interestingly, one of the pros on the DVD was shaun white of snowboarding fame. I was a bit shocked to see a guy who is one of the world's best snowboarders able to do crazy ass skateboarding manouvers as well. I'm still quite spun out about it. To give a conventional sports example, this would be like the best rugby league player in the world going and playing AFL, and then winning the brownlow medal or being a finalist for it.

craziness.

peeeeeeewwwwww!
Our office currently smells like post feeding time at an indoor cow farm. Something coming through the air conditioning (maybe a prankster's fart bomb?) has made working quite impossible, so here's a recap on my weekend!

thursday night:
I was meant to go see eskimo joe with thommo and connie, but it was sold out, so we wondered up to cronulla and caught tim rogers (the guy from you am i) doing a solo gig. It was nice, but crowded. He is a funny guy, but waaaaaay too much into the rock and roll style drugs and partying. It was a little sad to see that. Berlin chair was done quite well. The crowd did backing vocals.

friday:
Tried to go to church, but it was too full, so Connie and I just hung out at a park and read the bible together.

I went fushing with cutler, link, marti and rasso at night time off a pontoon at marti's uncle's house. It was great because the fish were biting and everyone was having a lot of fun. The wind was up a bit though, which made it a little frustrating to keep everything from blowing away. One gust picked up a piece of paper and started carrying it off. As I reached out to grab it, my wedding ring flew off and into the water... so no more wedding ring. We did get a few eating sized fish, but no one could be bothered taking them home and cooking them so we threw them back. I also caught the biggest puffer fish I've ever seen. This thing was like 30cms long. I had to use pliars to get my hook out of it's mouth.

saturday:
In the morning I had the cross beach breakkie, which was happily rain affected so we didn't have to walk for 4 hours!!!! Instead we just had a nice bbq at shelly beach (cronulla for all those who aren't shire bums), and played some cricket.

Next up, LAN! went to gus' house and LANed for a while. We pretty much played warcraft mods the whole day/night. Towards the end of the night we were playing quake 3 CTF and I kept falling asleep during the game, only to wake up dead :) I managed to come second though, so maybe others were also dozing off?

sunday:
I went out for lunch with connie's family for easter. That was really nice for the most part. Good food, and nice setting. Connie's uncle is a bit annoying when he is drunk, but other than that we had good company too. Later on I went back to the LAN for a while to play more warcraft mods, and just hang out. We went to church at enfield, near the LAN, and they gave us take-away holy water to bless our houses with... it was the bestest thing evar. I packed up and left about 2am and slept at home.

Monday:
Today was pretty much just spent hanging out with fat. We played basketball for a while, and trained for the upcoming grand final - and also just hung out and watched an old jordan game when he dropped 69 points on the cavs. It totally doesn't feel like he scores 69 though... I think it's because of all the free throws, and the fact that there was an overtime. Still worth watching though. Also time with fat is in short supply since my move out of the shire.

So all in all a pretty good weekend - except for losing my ring - so I'm pretty high on life right now :)
