(not so) cool websearch
My brother has the most deadly spyware known to man on his computer at the moment. Cool web search. I remember I had it once about 2 years ago and it took me about a month to fdigure out a way to get rid of it, it was just horrible. It changes your search pages, uses your bandwidth up, and just annoys the crap out of you. Anyways it's sure come a long way in the year or two since I last saw it. Now it totally disables IE from working at all, it used up a gig of downloads in about 10 days, it puts porn links in your history, and there's no easy way of getting rid of it at all. For most people, getting cool web search means a re-install of windows. I still don't know what to do with dee's computer.
Anyways yesterday was fun. I ran art night at the cross. People have some awesome ability... there was some great stuff produced. Unfortunately I didn't get much of a chance to talk to everyone like I like to, but it was nice anyway just to run a night where everyone seems to have a lot of fun, and we make some good stuff.
After art I went skating with coggo, marti and emm. It was good times. I managed to finally grind the big wall at engadine. Marti did pretty well skating for his first go, he rolled in from the middle island thing (for those people who know engadine). Emma didn't skate, but if she had I'm sure she'd have been 50-50ing the whole big quaterpipe wall because she's got game.
Everyone is going to japan this week. Graham is already there, chenny leaves tomorrow morning, and chito and gus left on thursday. I'm stuck here in Australia, but at least the weather is fine. Maybe me and you could do something sometime? Anyone?

wooo!
Watched season 2 of the office + the christmas specials today. This 'dance' thing that everyone will tell you is the greatest spectacle of human artistic achievement since the mona lisa herself, is a bit of a let down. Overall I enjoyed it ok though.
I had pizza for dinner, and by the time I went to pick up my order the store was closed. I had to pick up and pay for my pizza through this barred after hours window. I kinda felt like I was visiting my poor pizza making friends who were stuck on the inside. Maybe next time I do it I'll slip them a cake with a file baked into it as a 'tip'.

Press Shift+F5 for maximum <3
It has come to my attention once again that some people aren't seeing the latest post on my blog unless they refresh. Maybe I'll fix the template with the knowledge I gained in my four years of computer science at university, but more than likely you'll just have to shift+f5 when you visit. I'll keep you updated if anythign happens about that.
Well wednesday was whack. I went with fat to the kings game to watch them choke and die in the final seconds, and lose the game. Frankly I blame sheridan (that wont be funny unless you are chenny, connie or fat - sorry). We did get to hang out a bit though and talk basketball which was nice. Also the pre-basketball ritual of oportos was upheld, although sadly being a wednesday, there was no room 208 on TV for us to laugh at and make fun of.
A little background info for all ye uninformed non-watchers:
Room 208 is a show on one of the cable TV music channels (I think channel V), and it's filmed live on friday nights at fox studios. Oporto at the entertainment centre plays channel V inside the store for customers to watch. The basic premise of the show is that this crazy punk/lesbian? chick is in a constructed nightclub in the channel V studios at fox with a dumptruck load full of teeny boppers (aged 12-14 I think). The teeny boppers are engaged in a fierce dance off, and home viewers vote in for their favourite dancers using one of those $2 per minute scam hotline things. As votes are coming in by phone and sms, any insightful comments sent with the votes are scrolled across the bottom of the screen. The comments are usually in one of the following formats:
* OMgz MaNNNZZ [insert name here] is TOTaLLy hAWWWWWT!
OR
* OmGZZZ maaaNN! [insert name here] has [imperfect physical feature]. Dey sh00d [insert cruel comment about said feature here]
The SMSes alone are pretty funny... but I haven't even touched on some of the most amusing aspects of the show. Firstly the nicknames! Each dancer has their own personalised IRC style nick name with which people can identify them when voting. Some examples are "Brown sugah"(sic) and "miss mango" and "ant". The funniest thing however, is the attention whores. There's one in every show (at least). They always HAVE to be on camera at ALL times. If someone is being interviewed, within seconds you can bet your knee high socks and beret, that the attention whore will be in the background dancing their way into your living room like an inquisitive emu. After all this stupidity, the dancers with the most votes in the last 15 minutes of the show go into a kind of finals situation where they podium dance off against each other and a live vote is carried out and displayed on the screen.
I have to say, that as stupidly crap that the whole idea of room 208 is, I enjoyed the brief few times I have watched the show, because of how serious the kids involved take it, and how funny it is to watch all the crazy stuff going on, and the sms payouts. In a way, I really feel sorry for these kids, because they will regret being on TV dressed and acting like that when their 21st comes around. We're all victims of outdated culture from time to time though.
So hats off to you room 208. A show that is completely stupid, yet suprisingly entertaining.

Dead to the world
Well I was sick as prophecied in yesterday's post. Spent the day sleeping, organising the cross, and chatting to a multitude of people on msn. I played basketball in the night time as well - against my better judgement - but it was fun and I don't feel sick afterwards. I only played half a game though. I've been working on some animation but I heaps don't like it... it's so jerky and crap. I can't believe how much time it takes just to animate something smoothly. I have so much repsect now for all the people who make cartoons. Except maybe south park.
Lots of my friends are going overseas in the next week. I guess this is the time where I pout because I decided to buy land instead of taking a trip, but to be honest I'm not that cut about being bound to australia for now. I have no leave anyway :O So it's work work as usual here... and lots of basketball this week. Three games of comp, and tomorrow night I'm watching the kings play.

oooooooh it's just so hot today...
As most of you know it's been crazy hot today. To make matters worse my computer room gets inexplicably hotter than everywhere else in the house, and I also played basketball tonight. I feel a bit sick again.
Sadly I wont be on the radio this week. It's been postponed for at least a week because all the tech guys are unorganised (except steve, who is doing everything by himself :| what a guy!). The week is already quite full, but it seems every day I'm squeezing more things in. Thursday I'm playing basketball with Fat and wednesday we're going to see the kings game.
I really need some creative outlet at the moment. Friday night at the cross should be good - creative arts night. I hope the juices are flowing so to speak.

ah so des ne!
Well, God sure is making my paths straight lately... just about every day it seems something rediculously fortunate happens to me. I'm being really well looked after at the moment by God, friends, family, everyone (that includes you... so thanks :D)
Connie and I sorted out the loan details today with her parents. They rondomly decided to knock 0.25% off the interest rate that we are paying them, and also decided to let us pay by direct deposit rather than cutting the cheques every month. I was totally not looking forward to the whole cheque thing, so that was like music to my ears.
Straight from connie's parental's house we went to chito's place in hurstville (gogo stalkers) to chat and figure some things out before he goes to japan. Meester chito, the lovely boy that he is, gave connie a 21inch monitor because he felt sorry for her using a 14inch P.O.S. Needless to say connie was pretty elated at receiving a monitor bigger then herself. The thing is so big I almost died carrying it upstairs tonight. It's seriously the biggest monitor I've ever seen. Sadly ladies, although on the market for quite some time, chito the fine young gentleman was recently snapped up and is happily in a relationship. You have to get in early to get a catch like him tbh.
Chito also hooked me up with slime forest (a game that teaches you japanese) and we played some NS and CS until it was time for me to go to church. I missed about half of it because of lateness of me, and absence of trains. Trackwork on the blue line meant I had to wait for a stupid bus to sutho. On the plus side, it wasn't very crowded, so I had a nice drive to church.
I just got a new keyboard from the insurance guys and I'm heaps not used to it yet. It seems to be different to the other one, because I'm typing slower and making more mistakes. Maybe I'm just tired :O
After church tonight I went for a skate with kyle, dan, alexi and crollins. It was fun times.

fancy schmancy
Today was perfect. I woke up at 12 noon on the dot and played some NS with linklater (a youth group dude). For some reason though my adsl is playing up and I have a 150 ping to the exchange :O so it wasn't ownage, but I did get to teach him a few things about the game,a nd we had fun.
After that I hung out with connie for a while at home before we dragged our sorry butts out to the store to shop for mitch's 21st present. I don't like to brag, but me and connie are on a friggin roll with gifts this year. For some reason we've been stumbling on the perfect presents for everyone, so the stakes were high, and we wanted to keep up the record.
Now I have no idea what mitch likes, except that I can assume he's kind of like my brother, because they always hang out. So we got him this kickass poster (looks a bit nicer than that, but it's close) and a dissociatives DVD and a puzzle. The DVD I just picked up at random because I thought he might like that kind of music. Anyway, at the party the playlist was pretty stacked full of dissociatives songs, so winnar again :D It's awesome when you get a present for someone and it turns out to be something they really love, and it's even better if it's a bit of a fluke.
The party was fancy dress, theme: aussie. I went in an akubra hat, jeans, and a flanno-style shirt. Most people lamed it up by having like an australian flag tattoo or not even bothering at all. It was still a good party though. There was some entertaining speeches.
After the party I came home and learned how to play a jeff buckley song on guitar (albiet the simplified version).
