Welcome to World of Waitcraft

installed my WoW trial today. It looks impressive from the cinematics, however I am still yet to play the game, despite first installing my software over 6 hours ago. Here are the chronicles of my journey, timelogged in 24 hour time for extra professionalism.

19:00 - opened world of warcraft and installed the game.
19:10 - install was not even half finished so I played poker and lost. I blame WoW.
19:45 - install finishes. Patching process begins.
20:00 - patch only 3% complete. Estimated time left is 2 hours. Flatmate and wife begin quizzing me on why the internet is so slow for them.
22:00 - patch finsihes downloading and starts installation
22:10 - installation complete, second patch begins downloading
22:25 - second patch complete, installation starts
22:30 - second patch is installed. WoW boots and servers are displayed.
22:35 - after browsing through a list of about 50 servers, on advice I choose frostmourne as my server because it seems to be oceanic, and a new server, so a low population.
22:37 - the first time I have had to queue to play an rpg. The initial indication is a wait time of 70 mins. I alt tab to irc
22:50 - screenshot above taken. Estimated time left fluctuates madly between 80 mins and 5 mins remaining in the queue. I try another server, it is full to.
23:00 - I go back to NS for a while to see if I can get in later
23:45 - NS on customs servers sux. I quit the game and boot up WoW.
23:46 - I am greeted with an announcement that server upgrades are taking place, and WoW will be offline for the next 6 hours.

Not a very pleasant first experience of the game, but hey, I'm sure it'll be a great game once I can actually get IN to the damn thing.
