woah.
I watched the butterfly effect tonight and I totally can't get it off my mind. It's such a thinking movie while at the same time being perfectly easy to understand. I loved the way it was put together, and the acting and characters. It's just insane. So in summary, I can't think of anything to write about because my mind is totally swimming in the butterfly effect still, and I'm still trying to digest it all, and reach equilibrium again.

Crowdedness
I caught like 500 trains on the way home, all because I was looking for a skate park that wasn't overflowing with the school holiday crowds. Chenny and myself ended up kicking back at lidcombe (where I live) at the snake run there. It was ok, but not much of a challenge. Anyways afterwards we were at my house and decided to try jamming together on the two guitars I somehow have. Chenny was playing bass on the acoustic and I was playing on the electric (sans amp) over the top. I also rigged up a metronome on the computer for him with the windows DING sound. We have a long way to go before we're rock stars I'll say that much :O
The basketball game was ok... I scored some points, got some steals, nearly lost us the game but recovered ok :D we won by like five or something?

Blackstump recap
Friday::
After leaving work on time for once, I met up with chenny and caught a train to sutherland to pick up my car from church where Connie had left it for me. We then drove to my house for a quick, fruitless search for air mattresses, and then headed down to blackstump, a three day camp-out Christian music and arts festival. It was absolutely pouring down with rain, and there was fog on the road... so it was a pretty interesting drive down there. It took about 45 minutes to reach the campsites.
I arrived to find connie had already set up my tent (what a champ) and a lot of people were having a cry about the rain and holing up inside cars. The ground was really muddy most places and pretty slippery... so my basketball shoes are now almost dead with muddy-uncrustedness. I saw a few good bands, Jenani were quite good, I took some photos of their gig with my SLR. My brother's band anonymous gift got postponed until saturday because one of the performance spaces got flooded. I got a relatively early night, sleeping in my tent with chenny because connie had gone home with one of her friends for the night.
Saturday::
I woke up late, missing half of the morning worship thingy, but the talk that I caught was pretty mad. This guy called glen powell was talking about tradition in religion and how if it's inflexible it can be really bad. He also said that the gospel Christians today preach is more a gospel about Jesus than the gospel Jesus was preaching. It was interesting, and probably not something I've heard dealt with before. After that I went to this leadership workshop by the guy who is the personal pastor to bill clinton :O Which is amusing to say the least. He didn't talk much about leadership, but he did have some insightful things to say. He talked about the gay issue and how he doesn't understand why its such a big issue when there's a million other horrible things going on in the world. Also that Jesus didn't say anything about homosexuality in the bible, it's all old testiment or letters.
I saw a few more things during the day... there was this crazy eating challenge put on by world vision where dudes had to eat all these disgusting things that people around the world eat. Some of the more gross were preserved duck egg, raw liver, and pigs intestine. This little girl about nine years old ate a whole chilli as calmly as you'd ever see anyone eat something. She even ate the stalk it was amazing.
They screened my movie at 6pm and lots of dudes I know came to watch so I got lots of applause and stuff. It was pretty mad I have to say... great audience reaction. Everyone loved the wedgie scene. I think mark's additions to the script were pretty mad. He has a nice comedic touch. Later on the finals were on and we WON FIRST PRIZE! a $120 HMV voucher, and I was pretty much stoked for the rest of the night. Unfortunately no one was there to watch me claim my prize since anonymous gift were playing their bigtop gig at the same time, but hey... I got to see the last song of theirs in there, and win as well, so it's kinda the best of both worlds. Later this week I should have the movie up on my website so I'll post it here. I spent the rest of the night wondering around happy.
Sunday::
Missed everything in the morning except the "leadership" talks. I spent most of the rest of the day just walking around looking at stuff. I saw nathan's band 'the conspiracy' play around lunchtime... they were quite good. I caught the end of the refrains as well, but only just. I took lots of photos of people playing in the mud, they turned out pretty good. Other than that there wasn't too much going on, it was quite a chilled out day. I went to bed about 2am.
Monday::
Packed up and went home :( coggo taught me how to play zombie on the guitar :D it wasn't too hard to pick up. I practiced all the way home, much to the distaste of connie and chenny, and had a well earned shower and rest. I cooked a curry for dinner and got my photos developed - they turned out pretty good. I'll scen in the passable ones and post them here.
