me lose brain? oh-oh.
I got a lift home from the station by dave, because he was coming over to give me some advice on the movie I'm making. On the way we saw a car with a sticker on it saying www.eroticcars.com.au (I think?), I wasn't aware cars were into pornography, or is it a site where people get off by looking at nekkid cars or something? Anyways the whole concept sounds like a sham to me. Maybe every other domain the guy wanted was taken so he combined his two most favourite interests :D

Dave liked the movie somewhat. He had a lot of suggestions that I think are going to help it heaps. I'm going to re-film as much of it as I can too, depending on how willing the kids are to do multiple takes. I think some of them are heaps keen, others are heaps over it.

I finished off my talk for the camp I'm doing next week, it's about spiritual gifts. Browsing the net for Christian material is a funny experience. Sometimes you get people who say stuff that's entirely wrong. Like this one guy who was saying it's a sin to be sad. What a joke, there's a whole book of the bible written by a sad guy, and it's called lamentations.

Sometimes I want to apologise to the world for all the damage done by people acting wrongly in the name of God, but I guess it's best to leave that up to him, and there has been a lot of good stuff done as well. I guess humans are ultimately going to ruin anything they get their hands on eventually, because humans are inherently dissatisfied with perfection, and think that trouble is interesting.

Anyways tomorrow I go to the camp for a week. So no blogs probably for a while :( not that many people actually read this anyway :) but it's a good release to write things down.

gah :(
Well I spent most of today putting together a draft cut of my film for blackstump. Well film #1 anyway, since I have two more that I'd like to make for this year if I get around to it. The footage is so suspect. I need to re-film quite a lot of it because it just doesn't look good enough, or the acting was not so great. Disappointing but at least it's not been left too late to do that sort of thing.

I think it has the potential to turn out really good, it just needs some work.

one too many ollies
Well, after work I met chenny on the train and we went to the skate park for some pre-basketball festivities. It was kind of cold out, but we had to hold up the tradition of skating before the late game. The park is well lit, so we only go there at night when it's not used by anyone else. I rolled into the snake run and got about half way down and then pulled out. There was 2 coke bottles and an aerosol can on the concrete, and lots of dirt.

Needless to say we were a lot less keen to skate. Also chito's recent anklebreaking fiasco, and the long break between skates for us both contributed to our hesitations to ride the snake run. We both had a few goes and then decided to practice ollying (jumping). I had a few goes and was going well when I landed one a little too in the middle and a loud crack resonated around the park. My board had snapped cleanly this time in half. It was pretty funny (see cam pic). That put a premature end to our skating so we went home and sat around for a while before going to basketball.

Basketball was ok, chenny played really well for a tired man. He ran 4kms at lunch for some reason. Our team are pretty nub offensively. No one has a jumpshot. Maybe adrian. Chenny, me and harry score about 70% of the points, and I'm not a scorer. Harry had a hamstring injury, and without the FEARSOME rednut, we were kind of average. We lost by 14 but we played ok, great defensively, not so great offensively. I think when we all play a bit together more, we'll learn to score better. The new guy phil is ok. Pretty much how I imagined his game to be.

Gm of the year
I got to work and I received an SMS from fat saying he was in QLD and couldn't play basketball tonight. I got a bit worried seeing as though I couldn't make it either, and our team only has six players. Lets do the maths:

6 - 1 - 1 = 4 = not enough

so I emailed some of the dudes from our team asking if they could bring a friend and I found out two of the other guys weren't planning on coming either. Lets re-do the maths.

6 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 = 2 = forfeit fine :(

eep! I was on the email all afternoon working out a way to get people to the game, and we actually managed to recruit two new players in our desperateness to field a team. One is a friend of a guy at work, and the other is a friend of a guy in the team. We managed to get 5 players to the game because of all that, and we didn't forfeit. Call me jerry west!

emo :D
wells, today was filming day. It's really hard and tiring working with teenagers, we were all tired and cranky by the end of the day, but we got something kinda good on film, and I'm hoping to work it a bit and make it into a movie of sorts :D

I don't think it'll be as good as ninja 101 without phils pro editing skills on the scene, but I've been promising the zion dudes I'd do a movioe with them for a while, and phil wasn't heaps keen on this script. I really wanted to make it though, just to go out a bit form the comedy genre.

A lot of people have been commenting positively about my art and writing lately, which is cool :) I don't usually get much praise other than from connie who by default likes all my stuff. So maybe I'm doing something right for once.
