wax on, wax off
Today was fun :D I took some photos of my boss today for unstated purposes. It was quite weird, but at least he respects my photography skills. We were like down in the garden getting this mad backdrop of vines on brick and two girls from work walked passed and yelled out "WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING". I didn't have a sharp witty comeback so I just said "taking photos". I think they were weirded out. Speaking of photography skill, I still owe gabby some proofsheet scans. I'll do it next week I promise!

I stopped off at ashfield on the way home from work. After listening to like an hour and a half of music stories from andy and dave thomas I was running pretty late, so luckily there was a bargain shop near the station and I just looked around there for what I needed. I got a cheapo iron for $13 and skated back to the station. When I got home I discovered my wax, and waxxed up my board and chitos. I managed to put a nice scratch down the middle of my base by being careless, unfortunately chito's board is still in pristince condition. They were both badly needing the wax though, they look a lot better now. So tomorrow we go to the snow, should be good. I'm totally not packed yet and it's like 3:30am. I'm going to be dead at work tomorrow. Prod me if I fall asleep at my desk minh.

The Delivery Boy
Well, seems I'm quite the courier of late. Julia dropped off bunny's 1st & 2nds prizes in some colouring in competition to me today at work, so I had to skate home with those things in hand, then I went and picked up chito's snowboard from his house for chenny. Still, it's nice to be able to do stuff for people now with my car, since lots of people have given me places (thanks phil and chito).

I forgot to eat today... does that ever happen to anyone else? It's a bizarre concept because your body is meant to tell you do the necessary things (eat, drink, breathe) but I guess eating is the least important of those.

The only other thing I have to add is that chito's sister has cool shoes. Pink and white striped converse all stars.

I am a mechanical man.
Just lately I've been listening to a lot of old computer game tracks. The pick of the bunch so far would have to be the soundtrack to westwood's command and conquer, a game i used to play with unparalleled fevor. Just listening to such tracks as "Mechanical man", "just do it" and "fight, win, prevail" brings back memories of obelisks, mammoth tanks, commandos and ion cannons. Back in the day I used to dial up my friend's house direct and play on my house's only phone line for like 3-4 hours on a friday arvo after school.

Basketball was ok last night, we only just won though under very favourable circumstances. The actual details embarass me :D

it lives.... again
Ok yesterday everything was broken, but today it all works again. My digital video camera that I thoght was screwed works fine, my skateboard deck appears to still be fine, and we found the other plate to connie's snowboard bindings :D

So basically all the financial woes I thought I was facing are gone. Sweet :D IN other news, my brothers band are playing at hills conference. 2-3000 people usually go. They don't have a heaps major gig though, but it's still cool. He can't room group lkead on triple B though because he has too many band commitments. Its horribles.

We lost basketball, fat got ejected from the game for picking a fight with this massive maori dude. It was kinda crazy of him, but basketball brings out the dragon within for fatman. I scored about 10 points on less than perfect shooting :D still, it was fun.

Snow Snow!
Well, me and connie found a spare weekend, so we are off to the snow next friday night. We picked up connie's board from my house, dusted it off, and we'll be waxing it up ready for first snow adventures of the year. This will be a bit bizarre for me, because it'll be the first time I've ever boarded in june. The snow seems adequate. I don't think anythign is really open yet though. I might have to go back country. Perisher has zali's open I guess... that's enough for a lark.

Strange
A lot of people my age seem to be worrying that they haven't really done anything with their life. They seem to feel like they don't really belong, or that something is missing for them, and they feel like they need soem kind of creative hobby to fill the void. I have to say that since I've been a Christian (4 years?) my faith has been the only thing that I don't get bored of, that I don't just do out of habit, or that I haven't started to grow out of. Apart from all the other good things about Christianity, I kinda wish that all those people I know that are feeling kind of lost could have faith like me so they wouldn't feel like that any more.

I find it a bit hard to write about my faith because it's hard to articulkate, and also I have been made to feel pretty judged about saying anything Christian-like without being invited, but lately I've just been hearing a lot of people's stories that have made me feel this way.

Gah!
My brother leaves for Bali in a little over a week for a surfing trip. I hope he doesn't die on a reef or something :D

Saturday
Slept until like 2pm because the bed was warmer than the air... it was quite nice. I got my ass up and went to watch the Australian women's basketball team play China at homebush with connie and fatman. It was Ok, but it wasn't much of a challenge. The Opals (that's Australia) won 94-48 or thereabouts. Early in the second quater Penny Taylor had more points than the entire Chinese team. At this point I will have a moment's silence for whoever plays Australia at the olympics once Lauren Jackson is in the team as well. She's easily the best women's basketballer in the world right now, and we're already kicking the asses of some of the olympic teams in warm ups without her. Probably the highlight of the game was this short little chinese pointguard who would stand there dribbling the ball yelling at her team mates in a firey, dragonesque display of menace. I'm pretty sure she was saying "ni hao ranma" and "woh ai nae" (spelling?).

After the basketball, me and fat had some tense singstar battles, and ate some pizza. We also looked over the wedding photos. It was casual, but nice.

Friday
Work was work. After work I went along to this band night/skateboarding thing with youth group. I was mainly there as a driver, but I was keen for a skate as well. The bands were pretty teh awesome. One in particular called the refrains I will definately be checking out again. They were like funk with a DJ and occasional rapping, but they had a melodic chick singer as well. It was a nice mix, even though it sounds kinda awful when described like that. Some of their songs are kinda reggaeish, which was refreshing.

After them I decided to check out the skateboarding, it was above my level of expertice, so I had the zion dudes teach me how to do an ollie. I had a few goes and I was doing it ok, when I landed in the middle of the board one attempt, instead of on the trucks. I heard a loud CRACK sound, and my board was brokened. I feel like a pro, but now I have to buy a new deck. So it's good and bad. I actually also snapped a snowboard the first time I was doing it (which is a helluva lot harder to do) so the legacy continues.

I dropped by chito's house on the way back from church and gave him his beloved computer bits back. So he's online again. I think he musta been dying of boredoms with no internet and no DVDs. He said he was entertaining himself with some kind of paper material called a book? I dunno what that is, but it sounds complex. Bed was especially warm and inviting after being so coldness at 4am walking from car to house.
