Saturday
Slept until like 2pm because the bed was warmer than the air... it was quite nice. I got my ass up and went to watch the Australian women's basketball team play China at homebush with connie and fatman. It was Ok, but it wasn't much of a challenge. The Opals (that's Australia) won 94-48 or thereabouts. Early in the second quater Penny Taylor had more points than the entire Chinese team. At this point I will have a moment's silence for whoever plays Australia at the olympics once Lauren Jackson is in the team as well. She's easily the best women's basketballer in the world right now, and we're already kicking the asses of some of the olympic teams in warm ups without her. Probably the highlight of the game was this short little chinese pointguard who would stand there dribbling the ball yelling at her team mates in a firey, dragonesque display of menace. I'm pretty sure she was saying "ni hao ranma" and "woh ai nae" (spelling?).

After the basketball, me and fat had some tense singstar battles, and ate some pizza. We also looked over the wedding photos. It was casual, but nice.

Friday
Work was work. After work I went along to this band night/skateboarding thing with youth group. I was mainly there as a driver, but I was keen for a skate as well. The bands were pretty teh awesome. One in particular called the refrains I will definately be checking out again. They were like funk with a DJ and occasional rapping, but they had a melodic chick singer as well. It was a nice mix, even though it sounds kinda awful when described like that. Some of their songs are kinda reggaeish, which was refreshing.

After them I decided to check out the skateboarding, it was above my level of expertice, so I had the zion dudes teach me how to do an ollie. I had a few goes and I was doing it ok, when I landed in the middle of the board one attempt, instead of on the trucks. I heard a loud CRACK sound, and my board was brokened. I feel like a pro, but now I have to buy a new deck. So it's good and bad. I actually also snapped a snowboard the first time I was doing it (which is a helluva lot harder to do) so the legacy continues.

I dropped by chito's house on the way back from church and gave him his beloved computer bits back. So he's online again. I think he musta been dying of boredoms with no internet and no DVDs. He said he was entertaining himself with some kind of paper material called a book? I dunno what that is, but it sounds complex. Bed was especially warm and inviting after being so coldness at 4am walking from car to house.
